Bride and Groom Wedding Speech Tips…

When you and your bride-to-be are preparing your speeches for the big day it may help to consider the bride and groom speeches at the same time.

My wife and I decided that although we didn’t want to know what each other was writing in our speeches and therefore spoil the surprise on the day it would be a good idea to sit together and discuss the direction of the speeches.

Don’t Spoil the Surprise…

It doesn’t matter which speech is being written be it the groom wedding speech, the best mans wedding speech or the father of the bride’s wedding speech it always a good idea to discuss the direction of your speeches to ensure that the speeches don’t overlap so that you’re not both telling the same funny antidote or recounting the same interesting story.

Sometimes brides and grooms won’t both write speeches or if they do they may decide to write them entirely separately.  I would recommend that if you haven’t written your speeches yet that take the time to discuss them together.

Creating the Perfect Speeches…

If you decide to talk to your bride-to-be about the wedding speeches and whether she is writing one herself you’ll probably find that you both have lots of ideas of things you’d like to say and funny events or stories you’d like to tell, like how you first met…

Groom Wedding Speech Examples are something that I found extremely useful when preparing my speech for the big day.  I cannot recommend using sample speeches enough, they help you avoid writers block and ensure that you structure your speech correctly.

Using Examples and Remaining Unique

The great thing about many Groom Wedding Speech Examples is that they are designed to let you fill in the blanks and still create a totally unique wedding speech.

The perfect thing about Groom Wedding Speech examples is that they are designed in such a way that they take account of the formalities required of a grooms wedding speech but still allow you to fill in the gaps and create a speech which is unique.

Some of the things you can expect to find in an example Groom Wedding Speech are:

  • Who to thank and why
  • Short stories that you can tell
  • Your emotions of the big day
  • Jokes appropriate for the occasion
  • Things you MUST say to your bride
  • How to get the audience involved

The above are some of the parts that you can expect to find in Groom Wedding Speech Examples.  And I certainly found it the quickest and easiest way to formulate my speech because by having examples I could reference then to ensure my speech was meeting all the criteria.

The Groom’s wedding speech is an important part of the day and family, friends and guest will be eagerly awaiting the moment when you stand up to deliver your speech so it is important to keep them entertained.  You don’t want your speech to be too short leaving everyone with a feeling of disappointment but conversely you don’t want your speech to be too long as people will easily become bored.  Example speeches ensure that you don’t get this part wrong.

The example speeches I used can be found at this website which you can get to be Clicking Here.  There are many examples of speeches on the internet but these were the ones I found to be the best.

Groom Toasts – How to say the right thing…

When delivering your Groom Wedding Speech you are likely to be nervous so when it comes to delivering the Groom’s Toast you want to make sure that you don’t forget to thank someone but even worse you want to make sure that you say the right thing!  I wanted to avoid upsetting someone and embarrassing myself in front of guests so I looked for some tips on Groom Toasts.

The biggest mistake most Grooms make…

It may seem so obvious that its almost not worth mentioning but you’ll be surprised by how many Grooms make this fundamental mistake.  Previous relationships are an absolute No No!  Even in the context of a joke or to be used as some form of comparison to your bride mentioning previous relationships should be avoided.

Remember that your bride to be has been waiting for this day for most of her life so dragging up your old girlfriends is not going to please her at all

Remember to speak positively about your bride at all times and although, because you are close, it might seem appropriate to tease her with a joke or two remember you are doing this in front of guest so it is best avoided.  I did and it worked wonders for me on the day.

Liquid Refreshment

Preparation is the key to the successful and loved Groom Wedding Speech and Toast.  There will be a lot to remember and on the day you going to be extremely busy, generally there will be a lot going on and you’ll have a lot on your mind.

Alcohol is your biggest enemy on the day so I avoided drinking before my speak, even for ‘Dutch Courage’ and it worked perfectly.  Once you have delivered a great speak you can relax and celebrate with a well earned drink.

Funny Groom Speeches – Getting the Timing Perfect

Wedding speeches on the whole can be quite emotional so it’s great to lift the mood with some funny jokes.  You don’t have to make the whole speech humorous but funny groom speeches can make your guest laugh and elevate your status from a good wedding speaker to a great wedding speaker.

Initially when preparing my speech I wanted it all to be funny but I soon realised that this would be a mistake.  You have to ensure that you aren’t going to offend anyone and you must be respectful to your family, friends and guests.  Can you just imagine how put out your bride would be if you kept making jokes about her and her father.

Great Funny Speeches and the secret code…

Injecting the right amount of humour into your Groom Wedding Speech will not only make your guest laugh but it will also keep their attention firmly centred on you.  That way you can control the crowd, as it were, by telling them an emotional and poignant story but then immediately lighten the mood by telling a funny joke.  Not only will this make for a great speech but it will also give you a small pause from delivery while the guests laugh.

One of the best funny groom speech secrets that I learned is to try and be informal and relaxed when you speak, interact with your guests – it’s a speech yes but not a lecture.  Try to imagine that your having a conversation with an old friend which in most case will more than likely be the case.

The Groom Wedding Speech and How to Satisfy Everyone

If you haven’t realised it already then you need to understand that a Groom Wedding Speech is not just about you talking about your past experiences with you bride but it is a way of ensuring that everyone is thanked for their support leading up to and on the day.  Getting the tone of your speech right will ensure your wedding goes without a hitch.

The Right People to Thank

The best approach to thanking people during your speech is to allocate a section of the speech to say thank you to everyone who has got you to where you are today.  It’s always best to thank your lovely bride first but don’t forget the best man, the maid of honour and everyone who has help or given advice.  Its important not to forget the Father of the Grooms wedding speech.  You hope that he will have something wonderful to say about you and your lovely bride so it is important to have included something positive about him in your speech.

Including your Family

When I wrote my Groom Wedding Speech even though I had already told the story numerous times I couldn’t help but include, as the opening to my speech, the story of how and when I first met my wife to be.  Everyone loves to hear these stories and it gives some background to the wonderful day.
